OnLive TV Console Wired-only?

OnLive TV Console
The back of the OnLive TV Console. Note that it only has an Ethernet port.

From what I can gather it looks as if the OnLive console is wired only. Note the destinct lack of any antenna on the console. Why is’t the TV console wireless? Perhaps it lags badly enough that they haven’t included or hinted at the option of the device being wireless. If thats the case what does it say about computers that are connected to networks wireless? Perhaps this is the big catch of the technology. That or I am over speculating on this way to early. However, the fact the console device appears to be wired-only concerns me,  alot.

GDC 09′: OnLive Announces a Gaming Revolution

Watch out Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft, the OnLive platform threatens to destroy the current video game business model as we know it. Though, right now there is no way to determine how much danger the big 3 are in. However, 16 big name publishers are on already on board including: EA, THQ, Codemasters, Ubisoft, Atari, Warner Bros., Take-Two, Epic Games. Indie developer 2D Boy has also joined the ship.

The OnLive platform is essentially cloud gaming computing. Users do not actually run games on their machines. Servers will actually run the game, which will be streamed to the users computer or OnLive console. Using some sort of super-recursion OnLive has managed to nearly perfectly compress the art streaming content.

Ahh, but what are the requirements?
Thats the beauty of the whole thing. Any entry-level computer could run any game on high-quality. Confused? You should be. Since the servers are actually running the game, your gaming experience is dependent on your connection speed. In theory netbook would have the same performance as a high-end gaming rig. The Onlive console is expected to retail for less than your $250 Wii. A formal release date has yet to be announce. Though, experts predict that the it will be out before the holiday shopping season.
